Happy Friday!

It has been a busy week here in my home, as it was the first full week of baseball for my oldest son.  He had a game on Monday, Wednesday and tonight and track on Tuesday and Thursday.  Not to mention that my littlest had his one year check up on Thursday, Kindergarten round-up on Thursday night and my daughter's allergies kicked into high gear this week.

I had a lot of fun doing my last custom!  I shipped them today, so they are on their way Kristen!

Update

I got a lot accomplished this weekend.  Finished a custom that was a pair of tattoo longies and a tattoo soaker.  They were really cute and a lot of fun to do!

Also finished a fire dancer soaker for a mama that had her own yarn dyed and sent to me.  It is unbelievable!

And finally, I snuck in a soaker for my Matty.  He doesn't have a ton of summer wool yet, but we are slowly working on it, lol!

Etsy Cloth Diapering Street Team

Recently I joined the Etsy Cloth diapering Street Team.  In an effort to try to make it easier to find cloth diapering related products on Etsy.  We have a website and a blog to keep all of you cd'ing mamas in the know.

What did this mama do today?

Well, besides shipping out some recycled longies and dropping off and picking up my kiddos today, I found a little time with my sewing machine.

I thought I would stick my big toe into the embellished pre-fold world.  So I did some up and we will see what happens.  I also re-stocked my bamboo velour wipes.  They were out of stock for quite a while.  

Sometimes I just find time with the sewing machine and sometimes I don't.  I also have been knitting away on Misty's mom tat longies and soaker.  I almost have them all knitted.  I am excited to get started on the charts and the embellishing.  I really think they are going to be so cute!

I am excited that I am finally figuring out this blogger set up.  My customs will from now on be on the side of the blog.  I will try to update each evening!

Spring. . .is it finally here in Indiana?

As a newly inducted suburban hippie, spring can not get here soon enough.  The kids and I live in our little backyard paradise all summer long.  

This spring we are going to double the size of our garden and we started our compost pile yesterday.  I am getting a "real" clothesline, instead of the strange one I had last year that wouldn't hold many diapers without sagging.

The kids have a lot of room to run around and play.  And the old area that the small garden was in will now be a flower bed that will be fully tended by the kids.  

Matty walked around in the grass with bare feet for the first time yesterday.  Something that is always fun to watch.  I knew he would love the feeling of grass on his feet...cause mama does and so do all of his siblings.

Chels went home on Saturday night since she had to go back to school today.  I miss her already.  Our family always feels more complete when she is here.  And she loves to do crafts with me.  We tie dyed a bunch of stuff on Friday and it was great fun.

Recent completions:

So everything is exactly the same on my customs list.  Why?  Because our entire family has come down with the flu over the last few days.  It has been brutal.  And of course, mama got it the worst.  I have had fever, chills, upset tummy, headache and exhaustion for the last 24 hours.  Yuck.

So hopefully tomorrow I can get back to my knitting list!  I get to start on some Houston Texans longies, that should be so fun!

Spring Break = Forever

So when you have a blended family, sometimes the school systems do not overlap their vacations.  So I am having two weeks of Spring Break.  It is wonderful spending the week with dd#1, we hardly ever get to see her anymore.  She is 17 and lives at her mom's and has "very important" stuff to do, lol!

But she wanted to come and spend the week here, so it has been a great week having her here.  Next week is ds#1's Spring Break and his will be filled with "I am bored" and trying to think of interesting things to do.

And dd#2 will not have any preschool next week either, so the house will be full and hopefully ds#2 will be very entertained by his brother and sister!!

I absolutely love doing customs!  They give me the opportunity to knit up things that I would never do otherwise.  I just finished doing some Hokie shorties and they are so cute.  My 12 year old son actually said they were so neat that they make him want to be a Hokie fan, lol!

Matty's 1st Birthday

Matty's 1st Birthday party was on Saturday and was wonderful.  Friends and family were there to help celebrate.  But mama's favorite part?

My little man in his all mama-made outfit.  The longies were knit up by me and the shirt was hand painted by my wonderful friend Chris (Art for Hire on Hyena Cart).
